ACEO, ATC, What Do These Letters Mean?

"Out On A Limb", 2 1/2 " X 3 1/2", ACEO colored pencil by Susie Tenzer - buy on Etsy

ACEO, ATC, what do these letters mean?  ACEO stands for art card editions and originals.  ATC is another term for the same thing and it stands for, art trading cards.  Both are created on a support measuring 2 1/2" X 3 1/2", the same as a standard playing card.  ATCs were originally intended for swapping, not selling.  People all over the world swap ATCs!  ACEOs, on the other hand, are for sale.  The most popular place to sell them is Ebay.  Artists use a variety of mediums to create ACEOs.  Subjects vary, but animals are quite popular as well as whimsical fairies and pin-up girls.  ACEOs are highly collectible because of their size, beauty and price.  People display them in special plastic sleeves, scrapbooks, or in miniature frames.  You can see more of my ACEO colored pencil paintings in my Etsy shop.

  3. What a fun idea. I must admit, I never quite "got it" when I was a stamper. Now I wish I had...

  4. I love ACEOs/ATCs - I learned about them in graduate school and even have done art lessons with kids about them. They love that they can keep them in baseball card pages. I think they are great! Shocking how much some of them sell for on Ebay! WOW! Wish I could get that much money for them!!
