Art Shows Aren't Just For Galleries

I just hung my colored pencil art in a senior assisted living residence.  The home is called Brooking Park and it's lovely.  They have a beautiful room that serves as a conference/event room.  Each month artists are invited to display original work.  I was able to put prices on my paintings and decoupage plates, which was wonderful.  More important than selling my work, though, is the good feeling that I have in showing my work to this audience.  I know the residents will really enjoy seeing original art during the month of September.  As I was hanging the pieces I talked a bit with some people.  Everyone was enthusiastic and friendly.  One gentleman cautioned me not to hit my thumb as I hammered nails into the wall!  It's a win-win situation for sure.  I get to feel good selling and displaying my art while the folks who live at Brooking Park get to enjoy a real solo art show!
